Derma Medical OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Clinical Aesthetic Injectable Therapies

The OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Clinical Aesthetic Injectable Therapies is a qualification for new and existing aesthetic injectors practising in injectables and dermal fillers. It has been designed in line with the latest guidelines for aesthetic medicine, enabling practitioners to provide the highest standards of patient and client care during all stages of delivering cosmetic injectables.

In January 2016 Health Education England published two reports aimed at improving, standardising and regulating the training available to practitioners who carry out non-surgical cosmetic procedures, such as Injectables, dermal fillers, chemical peels and laser treatments.

Part Two of the 2016 HEE requirements gave the deadline of September 2018 for practitioners to complete this Level 7 qualification. This has not become a mandatory requirement, however, Level 7 qualified practitioners will have the opportunity to be part of a register which will allow the public to check their aesthetic qualifications.

Derma medical offers the JCCP approved, OTHM Ofqual regulated Postgraduate Level 7 diploma in aesthetic injectable therapies. The Level 7 Diploma in aesthetic injectable therapies is suitable for those new to aesthetics through to experienced practitioners.

Our Level 7 Accredited Course Pathway

All students have a maximum period of 2 years from registration for the level 7 course to complete it. All observation, practical and direct observation of procedural skills (DOPS) days will take place in London

STAGE 1 (for beginners)
eManual
An E-manual- this consists of electronic material that covers the core topics as proposed by HEE guidelines on nonsurgical cosmetic interventions. We recommend allowing 72 hours of self-study time before taking the Stage 3 assessments.

Foundation Course
Our combined 1-day Foundation injectables and Dermal Fillers course will equip you with the knowledge and skill to carry out the most commonly requested facial aesthetic injectable treatments.

Advanced Course (optional)
The 1-day Advanced injectables and Dermal Fillers course is perfect for those wanting to further expand their Foundation training to increase the techniques and treatments that they are able to carry out.
STAGE 2 (for inexperienced practitioners)
Observation Days

Observe 10
botulinum toxin and 10 dermal fillers treatments (20 treatments) in a small group setting (4:1 ratio). All treatments will be administered by our Level 7 trainers. Delegates will need to complete 2 observation sessions to build up the required portfolio.

Supervised Treatment Days
Administer 10 botulinum toxin and 10 dermal fillers treatments (20 treatments) under supervision by our Level 7 trainers on a 1:1 basis. Delegates will need to complete 2 supervised treatment days under our supervision to build up the required portfolio.

Supervisors Report
Upon completion of your portfolio of the above treatments, you will receive a signed supervisors report enabling progression to stage 3.
STAGE 3 (for experienced practitioners)
Candidates will be examined on theoretical and practical content to gain the Level 7 qualification in Injectables in Aesthetic Medicine.

Short Answer Questions (SAQs)
34 Short Answer Questions (of 100-800 words) covering the core topics outlined in the HEE syllabus and eManual.

Portfolio Review
Completed logbook and Supervisor sign-off along with successful completion of written and practical assessments enables progress to certification.
Level 7 Certificate in Aesthetic Injectables
On successful completion of training, our delegates will receive accredited level 7 qualification in aesthetic injectables which is regulated by the government’s office of qualifications OFQUAL.
